I'd like to find out what the procedure is for a Historic Designation application. One hopes that it is a more democratic process than the one outlined in htis article.

We live in a historic district. We didn't know that when we bought the house. I don't think there are any "historic police" on patrol. Folks appear to do what they want to their house.
That's really cool. I was surprised to learn that a historic designation doesn't have to be fraught with drama. :)
